Description
Urban Pursuit is an exciting new event in Nelson; it involves teams of four racing to complete unique challenges designed to test the competitors both physically and mentally. The challenges will be hosted by nelson businesses located in the C.B.D.
Objectives
Teams must complete all challenges set before them in order to finish.
First team to cross the finish line wins.

Challenges
A team will be randomly assigned a starting challenge. Challenges will be run in sequence.
There will be twelve fun Challenges for each team. These are created by the businesses who are participating in the event. A typical challenge could test (for example) co-ordination, balance, general knowledge, spelling, physical strength, lateral thinking or any combination of these, but with the main objective of being fun. A challenge could involve one or more members of the team. The challenge should take around 5-7 minutes allowing 3 minutes for transit between challenges. Each challenge site will be setup for two teams to run simultaneously (to allow overtaking).
The referee will penalise incomplete challenge attempts by the addition of time penalties.
On completion of a challenge the official will mark the team's Map
On completion the next challenge will be revealed through the answer of riddle
Penalties
A team may incur time penalties for incompletion of a challenge or part of a challenge. These penalties are defined by each challenge location. There is a referee who oversees each challenge.
Start/Finish
Start at Trafalgar centre park.
Finish at cathedral steps with a Œbig finish';
Team Format
Four people to a team
12 challenges per pool of 12 teams
Age: 14+ must be at least one 20+ in team
Team must appoint leader.
Rules
1. The race will be held in the CBD of nelson
2. This is a race of body and mind; not a rugby match.
3. The official's decisions are final
4. Creative costumes are encouraged however they should be in keeping with the public nature of the event
5. Teams may travel by foot only. Wheelchairs ok
6. No cell-phones.
