Funk'n'SloCuts (from Minuit) was the feature act at The Nelson Youth Council's Afterglow event after the Mask Parade. The school holidays seemed to turn into one long Sumo match. Even the skaties got in on the act. Nearly 1500 young people dropped into the New Hub is the last school holiday break. A group of young women organised The New Hub Halloween Party this year which drew an enthusiastic crowd of around 60 ghouls, ghosts and monsters. See the photos here: AfterglowHalloweenHolidays.

The New Hub has launched a very popular Gym Circuit session as part of our Way2Go programme. A group meet once a week for a bit of a run around and some social touch rugby. Our yoga sessions are also popular. For more details Adult Programmes

Get Cooking The New Hub is very proud to be associated with this excellent initiative. As Charlie Ainscough's latest Get Cooking Newsletter says - over fifty people from fourteen seperate organisations have been trained as Get Cooking leaders and their efforts leading groups in the community are already paying dividends.
Thank You We were sad to see that the Independent Order of Oddfellows recently had to sell and move from the building for which they fundraised and built many years ago. Their loss became our gain, however, when they called to generously offer donations of kitchen equipment and sports' gear. Thank you for your support.
