What is YES?

Financial support for youth events and assistance from skilled mentors who work alongside young people 12-25yrs to put on their own events.

Who can apply?

The application needs to be made by a young person. Older people can be part of the organising group.

What sort of activities?

Any event for young people:skate comps, after ball parties, chess comps, concerts, dance parties, environmnetal cleanups, Hip Hop events, arts wiorkshops, political forums, religious rallies, youth rights seminars, training, film festivals.......you think of it - if it's by and for young people - it qualifies.

How do I apply?

You should phone Ron at The New Hub -03 545 9147. He will mentor you through the process. It's not difficult. The Nelson Youth Council will condsider applications on the last Wednesday of every alternate month(Jan, March, May etc). Give yourself plenty of time leading up to the event.
