About Nelson New Hub
The New Hub is a huge blue building on New Street in Nelson City, with an eye-catching mosaic on the outside of a heart and a star. The New Hub is the warm heart of Nelson and a friendly space for young people to meet and relax.
Opened in 2002, the centre has been a key player in the network of agencies supporting youth in Nelson. Our plan for 2007 – 2010 is to run a successful recreation centre and events programme, and develop the range of support we can provide through the Hub in partnership with other local organisations. Our aim is to have a universal appeal to youth, and to be a place where all young people aged 11-18 feel safe and welcome.
Vision and Objectives
To add value to young people's lives and work in partnership with them to achieve their goals
This will be achieved through:
1. Being inclusive of all young people in Nelson & Tasman Bays
2. Carrying a holistic approach to youth development
3. Development & provision of specific services
4. Following the ŒPartnership Model≠ for youth development
5. Engaging in community partnerships that contribute to our goals
6. Managing a vibrant and efficient organisation
